We sure had a strange spring with instant heat and then cool downs! Our plants weren't sure WHAT to do!! Most of our tomato plants have said, "Forget it!" and have died! But our beets and onions did great.
The remaining beets were all dug up Monday morning at 6:30 a.m., then the bed got hand-tilled, raked and planted with bush beans.
We have been spraying our beautiful squash and zucchini plants with baking soda water...it seems to really take care of those nasty bugs that have destroyed our plants in years past. I use 4 TBS baking soda to two gallons of water. I use a battery-operated sprayer so NO PUMPING!! Then I spray the solution on the dirt and the base stems of the plants. It works extraordinarily well!!
