Garden Sleeps through Thanksgiving and Christmas...sort of!

With the weather cooling off, the garden has really slowed down.  However, the spinach, lettuce, broccoli and carrots are doing well!  We've had some great help getting the empty beds composted and tucked in for a very "short winters' nap!"

Mid-January will be here before we know it, and we will hit the ground running...or rather, tilling!! *_*

The Last of the Fall Harvest

We had the last of our Fall Harvest, picking corn, peanuts, watermelon, pumpkins, green beans, onions, lettuce and spinach!!  We we've worked hard the last couple of weeks to clean out LOTS of biomass that's going to turn into a mess with the coming freeze this weekend.  So, we're saying good-bye until January 2021 and hope it's a less "interesting" year for the world!!

Pumpkins in July!!

We had a wonderful time checking what was ripe, and what needed to wait.  Watermelon was perfect, as were the pumpkins...oops!  Planted a bit too soon for Halloween!  BUT...we can plant a second crop next week, and it will be perfect timing for Halloween!!  Love the growing climate in Dixie!!!

Yep, we grow "bats" in our garden...zucchini bats!!

Ratatouille...made by one of our garden helpers!!
