SPRING PLANTING...just a little late!

Usually we get a two-week winter thaw in January where temperatures are in the 70's.  That's when we usually plant our early spring crops like Carrots, Beets, Peas, Lettuce, Spinach, potatoes, etc.

This year it didn't work out so well.  We DIDN'T have a two week thaw, we went three months without rain, and it just wasn't right for planting...until yesterday!!  We had a beautiful rain on Thursday (most of the day) and the soil was perfect for planting...so was the weather!!  We planted pre-soaked and sprouted peas, beets, lettuce, spinach,, flowers, AND we did some much-needed housekeeping!!  Thanks to everyone who came to help.  Working for one hour really gets lots accomplished!!
