New Beginnings in 2024!

It feels so great to be back in Utah and getting our hands back in the soil at the Santa Clara Community Garden.  For those who didn't know, my husband (Rod) and I served an 18 month mission in the Texas Dallas East Mission.  We lived in Tyler, Texas the entire time but served as far away as Shreveport, Louisiana, some in Arkansas, and over to Dallas.  We loved serving there and made many wonderful friends that were very hard to leave!!  We also started a Tyler Community Garden and hope that it will continue to thrive!

With that said, I need to also thank Ashley Adams and Judy Holly for all of their efforts to help the SCCG do so well while we were gone!!

Saturday, February 10th, we had our first "garden work party" since we returned.  The large amounts of rain we've had has been great, but it has kept us out of the garden!  It felt so good to be there Saturday with the sun shining and renewing friendships!

We got all of the south beds rototilled thanks to a great community service worker!  And we got all of the north beds cleaned up. The first bed on the south side is going to be used as a FLOWER BED!!  So it will be fun to see what that looks like!!  The next two beds got planted with sugar snap peas and a little bit of regular peas.  Although it's still going to be cold at night, there is a lot of sunshine headed our way!
